What is Maruti Suzuki’s Warranty/Standard Warranty?

Maruti Suzuki’s warranty is a commitment that every new vehicle sold by an authorized dealer will be free from defects in material and workmanship at the time of manufacture. If a defect is found during the warranty period, Maruti Suzuki will repair or replace the defective part at no cost. The decision of Maruti Suzuki is final and binding.

What is the duration of Maruti Suzuki’s standard warranty?

  • For vehicles retailed on or after 9th July 2024: 3 years or 1,00,000 kilometers (whichever occurs first).
  • For vehicles retailed before 9th July 2024: 2 years or 40,000 kilometers (whichever occurs first).

What does the warranty cover?

Maruti Suzuki’s warranty covers:

  • Defects in material or workmanship at the time of manufacture, under normal use and service.
  • If a defect is found during the warranty period, Maruti Suzuki will repair or replace the defective part at no cost for parts or labor, provided the defect is due to faulty material or workmanship.

What is not covered under the warranty?

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear items (bulbs, tyres, spark plugs, filters, brake pads, etc.).
  • Damage due to accidents, misuse, negligence, racing, or unauthorized modifications.
  • Issues caused by adulterated fuel, non-approved parts, or lack of prescribed service.

Is the warranty transferable if I sell my car?

Yes. The remaining warranty period is valid for the new owner, provided the vehicle remains in India.
