What is NEXA Music?

NEXA Music is an initiative by NEXA to discover, celebrate and create original international music in India.

What is the NEXA Music LAB?

NEXA Music Lab is a platform for emerging artists from all over India to showcase their talent. A jury spearheaded by A. R. Rahman will pick the top 30 participants, mentor them and create original international music in India. Out of the 30 emerging artists, the jury will further select the top 4 emerging artists and create 4 additional music videos that will be released internationally.

What are the minimum eligibility criteria to participate in NEXA Music?

Entry for the contest is open to all individuals who are citizens of India. The contest is open for Singers, Singer-Songwriters, Duos and Bands. The minimum age limit to participate is 18 (eighteen) years or above as of 30th May 2024.

What song can I submit?

You need to submit an original composition, in any language of Indian origin. The entry, which you need to upload is not limited to Contemporary, Pop, Jazz, Fusion etc.. However, make sure your track/song is not offensive to anyone and follows the T&C

What if, I don’t have a YouTube or a SoundCloud account? How do I participate then?

Do not worry, if you don’t have a YouTube/SoundCloud account, you can simply send in your entries by writing an email to us at nexamusicauditions2@gmail.com & nexamusichunt@qyuki.com with the subject NEXA Music Auditions with your name, phone number, email id, and the mp3, .wav format of your song as an attachment, file size should not be more than 5 MB.

What if I do not want my entry to be published on nexamusic.com ?

Do not worry, if you don’t want to share your original song with the public, then you can simply send us your entries by writing an email to us at nexamusicauditions2@gmail.com &  nexamusichunt@qyuki.com with the subject NEXA Music Auditions with your name, phone number, email id, and the mp3, .wav format of your song as an attachment, file size should not be more than 5 MB.

What is the last day to send entries?

The NEXA Music | Labs will accept entries from 1st June 2024 till 30th of June 2024.

I have submitted my entry but cannot see the entry in the gallery section on nexamusic.com ?

Once you submit your entry, it goes through a moderation process to crosscheck if it meets the T&C’s. Once its verified, you will be able to see the entry in the gallery.

In case, your entry does not meet the T&C’s, you will be notified via a message post which
you can submit a fresh entry, which meets the submission criteria.

*Please note: Your entry will not feature if you have participated by sending your entry via email as mentioned in Point No 2 above.

How will the winners get shortlisted? How many winners would be there?

A jury spearheaded by A. R. Rahman will pick the top 30 participants based on the original song they have shared. Out of the 30 emerging artists, the jury will further select the top 4 superwinners and create music videos that will be released internationally.
The decision of the Jury is final and binding, and not subject to any dispute or challenge.

Will be I called/communicated if my entry is shortlisted/not shortlisted?

NEXA Music/Qyuki or its representatives will contact only a shortlisted participant.
No communication would be made to participants that aren’t selected.

What is there for the winners?

The 30 shortlisted participants will be mentored by the jury, in the creation of their Lab Songs, and the 4 (Four) participants termed as winners will stand a chance to perform on original songs curated by A R Rahman, which will be released internationally.

The winners will also feature in the audio-visual of the song by NEXA Music.
